A quick response by officers early this morning resulted in the arrest of a 16-year old juvenile suspect who had just shot a 44-year old man and stolen his bicycle.
The victim was riding a bike in the 3200 block of N. Foster about 2:30am when a ski-masked suspect with a gun approached him and began shooting. The victim was hit three times. The suspect left the victim lying in the street and fled on his bicycle.
Responding patrol officers quickly located the suspect riding the bike in the 2800 block of N. Ardenwood. When he saw the police cars he abandoned the bike and ran into a school bus parking lot.

The 16-year old suspect was placed into the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Detention Center, charged with Armed Robbery, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile.
