The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) announced today it has hired Phillip LaFargue to serve as senior vice president of marketing for the organization. In this role, LaFargue will oversee all of the marketing operations of the organization including the management of all advertising and communications, events, talent development, and investor development functions. He will lead BRAC’s communication strategy, promotion of the Creative Capital of the South® regional brand, and work to increase the exposure of the organization in the region.

LaFargue previously served as director of communications at Center for Planning Excellence (CPEX) in Baton Rouge. He has also worked as a senior design associate at Matter, an Atlanta-based strategic design firm. LaFargue earned a Master of Design from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology and a BA in English literature at Louisiana State University. He currently sits on the boards of directors for both the Manship Theatre and the Big River Economic and Agricultural Development Alliance (BREADA) and is co-owner of Valcour Records, the Louisiana-based music label that recently earned a GRAMMY for its release, The Band Courtbouillon.
