LSU Baseball signee, Dylan Williams, 18, of 17 Crimson Hill Drive, Rydal Georgia was arrested recently in Cartersville Georgia and charged with trafficking ecstasy, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during a drug felony.
Six additional people were arrested and, during the search, agents seized what they called large quantities of Molly, high-grade marijuana and a firearm.
DTF Commander Capt. Mark Mayton said in a press release the investigation stemming from allegations of illegal drug activity in Cartersville began about a month ago and culminated Tuesday with a a traffic stop conducted by DTF interdiction officers on Interstate 75.
Williams is a pitcher from Cass High School in White, Ga. He had originally signed with Georgia Tech but signed a letter of intent to play baseball at LSU earlier this year.
“Dylan has the size and arm strength to emerge as a top of the rotation guy for us throughout his career,” Mainieri said previously, according to Williams’ personal biography on LSUsports.net.
No word on whether or not this affects Williams’ standing with LSU.
